The HuntGold fitness tracker is great if you on are a serious budget, but it’s not great if you are a serious activity conscious individual. It definitely gets the job done, if you can decipher the foreign manual, and tracks your steps, distance, and calories burned nicely on its display. It comes with an app on Google Play that takes some time to comb through just to find it, but it did work fairly well with our iPhone. Our least favorite aspect is that it must be charged daily, as battery life is subpar.

We say the Vkteck band is the perfect starter fitness tracker. It’s low costing, accurately tracks steps and distance, and it’s compatible on several Apple interfaces and Samsung Galaxy S4. We love that it recharges quickly via a built-in USB connector, saving you the hassle of a power cord, and it holds charge for days. The Vktech also tracks sleeping schedules that is easily readable through its app. It’s a great beginner piece if you’re not ready to make a more costly investment.

Our favorite aspects about the Samsung Gear Fit bracelet is that it’s comfortable for all day wear, and the screen is extremely easy to see under all lighting conditions. You can also customize the screen to add personal flare, and the band is interchangeable. It easily tracks fitness progress and it’s a huge plus you can check email and texts through this one device. It’s a great mutli-use tracker, but the only downside is it’s only compatible with Samsung devices.

iChoice is hands down the best $50 fitness tracker available now. We love that we can wear it as a wristband, or clip it on a pocket for easy portability, and syncing the device with our iPhone is a breeze and it works flawlessly. It tracks all the important information and keeps charge for days and only needs 1-2 hours to recharge. It works fast, efficiently and is a convenient tool for anyone wanting to track their activity. The only catch is you have to manually switch on and off Sleep Mode, but it’s so awesome you won’t mind.

The Runtastic is very versatile and we love that it is not only waterproof, but can reach depths up to 300 feet. Like we said, it’s a little big for a wristband but it also converts to a clip to affix discreetly. It also features an alarm, Bluetooth that actually works, and an intuitive app to track all your progress. And it doesn’t hurt that it’s backed by a 1-year warranty.

The MisFit Shine design is subtle and looks just like an average watch making it very comfortable to wear every day. We love how minimalistic is it, and converting it to a clip couldn’t be easier. It not only tracks steps and distance but can also keep tabs on sport activity, and activity progress is indicated on the interface by a halo of lights. We wish it wasn’t battery operated, but a single battery will last you up to 6 months. For swimmers, it is also waterproof up to 50 meters.

The Fitbit Flex is an amazing wireless fitness tracker that lets you set personal goals and watch your daily progress via LED lights on the wristband. It wears comfortable, is very slim and stays on well. It also has a silent alarm, a food and weight log, and it can monitor your sleep patterns that is illustrated well on the Flex free online dashboard. Our favorite part is that it syncs wirelessly with our computer and iPhone for instant access to all of our activity.

We like that the Jawbone UP tracks our day to day activity patterns and evens gives great tips on how we can be healthier. We found the step tracker to be really accurate as opposed to some trackers that simply follow arm movement, because that makes sense! And we really like that it not only gives us in-depth information on our sleeping patterns, but it gives us suggestions how on we can sleep better. It’s like having your own personal health coach and we highly recommend it.

Geared towards the avid swimmers, the Waterfi Fuelband is waterproof down to 210 feet and does not corrode in salt water. We find its strongest features to be is Bluetooth 4.0 that syncs wirelessly for live updates on activity progress, and the wristband design is comfortable and durable for everyday wear. The one downside is that it’s only compatible with iPhone 4S, 5 and 5c – sorry Andriod users.
